 Own this Photo Card Honoring Astronaut Malcolm Carpenter

Malcolm Scott Carpenter was the second American to orbit the Earth.  As one of the Mercury Seven astronauts, he launched into space on May 24, 1962 in the Mercury-Atlas 7 spacecraft.  While orbirting the Earth, Carpenter performed five scientific experiments.  After his space flight, Carpenter went on to conduct research on the ocean floor.
