Cover Cancelled in Apollo 15 Astronaut's Hometown

This cover ws postmarked in Jackson, Michigan, the hometown of astronaut Alfred Worden.  He flew in the Apollo 15 mission to the Moon.  While two other astronauts walked on the lunar surface, Worden orbited the Moon for three days in the command module Endeavour.  During his 74 orbits, he took photos of the Moon and performed scientific experiments.  During the flight back to Earth, Worden performed a spacewalk to retrieve film cassettes from cameras on the outside of the spacecraft.  This cover is a fitting tribute to one of America's Apollo astronauts.
