 Cover Commemorates America's Second Trip To The Moon

On November 24, 1969, the Apollo 12 mission began.  During the 10-day mission, astronauts walked on the Moon's surface as the Apollo 11 astronauts had.  This cover Honors the US Navy Recovery Force that recovered the spacecraft after it splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on November 24.  The cover was postmarked on the USS Hornet, the recovery ship.   It's a neat reminder of America's successful space flights to the Moon and all those involved in supporting the mission.
