 Cover Commemorates Successful End to Apollo 10 Mission

The Apollo 10 mission launched on May 18, 1969.  It became the second crewed mission to orbit the Moon.  The information gathered during the space flight paved the way for the first Moon landing two months later.  After reentering Earth's atmosphere, the spacecraft splashed down in the Pacific Ocean and was recovered.  This cover honors the US Navy Recovery Force, as well as the flight around the Moon.
