Cover Honors Norman Rockwell And our “Friends in Need”

This cover is part of the Norman Rockwell Commemorative Cover Collection.  One of the stamps (US #1307) was issued in 1966 to mark the 100th anniversary of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).  The cachet on the cover shows a painting by Rockwell called "Friends in Need."  The cover collection was produced in 1978 and postmarked in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where Rockwell lived and worked for over 20 years.
