Bahawalpur was a princely state of British India (and later Pakistan) that was part of Punjab States Agency.  It only existed as its own entity from 1947 to 1955.

Bahawalpur used the postage stamps of British India until 1945 and then began issuing its own stamps for official use only until December 1947 when the first regular issue stamp was released.  After October 1949, Bahawalpur began using Pakistan stamps for its mail.
