More About Albania...
Albania is a nation in Southeastern Europe. It sits along the Adriatic and Ionian Sea within the Mediterranean Sea and is bordered by Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, North Macedonia to the east, and Greece to the south.
Albania's first postage stamps were actually the stamps of Turkey. This practice lasted from 1870 until 1913, when Albania issued its own stamps for the first time. During World War II, postage stamps were produced representing the Italian, German, and Greek occupation periods. All Albania stamps are designated "Shqiperia," "Shqiperise," or "Shqiptare."
