Mickey Catches Fish at Hoover Dam
In 1991 Bhutan issued several souvenir sheets picturing Mickey and his pals exploring some of the world's wonders. The sheet offered here pictures Mickey catching fish at Nevada's Hoover Dam. The Boulder Dam, as it was initially called when it was completed in 1936, was built to control floods, provide irrigation water, and produce hydroelectric power. Later renamed to honor President Herbert Hoover, it provides power to Nevada, Arizona, and California.
