127-Year-Old Sierra Leone Cover Can Be Yours Today – Only One Available!

Now you can own an 1892 cover mailed from New York City to Freetown, Sierra Leone, featuring the 1890 US 3¢ Jackson stamp.  This cover features two postmarks on the front – one added September 30, 1892, in New York, NY, and the second in Freetown, Sierra Leone, with the exact date not quite legible.

Also on the front of this cover is a purple handstamp that reads "Fernand Noel, 95 Broad St., New York."  The fine, artistic handwriten adress on the front adds to the nostalgia of this cover and reads "via Liverpool Monsieur L. Gorgerat, Freetown, Sierra Leone."

The reverse of this cover includes two cancels from London, England, that were added to the cover October 10.  They mark this cover's stopover in London on its way from New York to Sierra Leone.  Also on the back is a second "Fernand Noel" purple handstamp.

Considering the tension-filled history between the United States and Sierra Leone during the decades slavery was still legal in American, it's interesting to think what sort of message this cover carried.  After all, the American Civil War and the abolition of slavery had only just happened a few decades before this cover was sent.

Take advantage of this opportunity to own a relic of the late 19th century.  Only one available – send now to avoid disappointment!
