Using the original plates, only 20,000 1¢ Franklin and Eagle Local stamps were reprinted in 1875 to commemorate our nation’s centennial.  Even fewer were issued imperforate.  Today they’re scarce and missing from most collections.
In 1875, postal rates paid for delivery between post offices – Local and Carrier Stamps were required for residential delivery.  Neat postal history and a great addition to your U.S. stamp collection.
