Flags on barns are about as American as you can get.  Old Glory prominently painted on the broad side of a barn can make hearts swell with pride.  What's better than seeing the Red, White, and Blue out in a field to remind us of what we have come from?

According to Stacee Lynn, The Barndominium Lady, "A barn is an American tradition.  It harkens back to a time of self-reliance and independence.  It reminds us that, even as times change, we are and have always been a nation of growers, of builders, and of doers...  They represent our willingness to work hard and create a nation of plenty."

The flag stirs up feelings of freedom, liberty, justice, and a fierce loyalty to America.  Since 1949, when President Harry Truman signed legislation designating June 14 of each year as National Flag Day, people have been hanging a flag ont heir house.  What better way to show pride in our country than having the flag front and center for all to see?

In 2022, the USPS released four different stamps with flags painted on barns in different seasons of the year.  These stamps were released to cover the bulk-mail rate.  So, whether painted or sewn, faded or bright, take a moment to stop and give the American flag the reflection it deserves.
