A parent's love is unconditional, but a grandparent's love can be even more special. Since grandparents tend to be a little more easygoing than parents, that sometimes translates to children feeling more at ease to be themselves. If there's something mom and dad won't let them do, there's a good chance grandma and grandpa might just say yes!
Aside from the occasional spoiling of their grandchildren, grandparenst often take them on fun adventures or tell them exciting stories about the past. And grandparents enjoy all of this just as much as their grandchildren do. All that leads to many happy memories both parties can hold onto for years to come.
When grandchildren get older, their relationship with their grandparents changes. There might not be as many surprises and fun trips, but the love and support continue to grow. Grandparents are a great source of advice and comfort when their grandchildren are having a hard time or have had an argument with their parents. Grandparents are always ready with a hug and an understanding ear.
