The Berkeley Hills are located in Contra Costa County, across the bay from San Francisco. While the western side of the hills have been pretty well developed, the eastern side has been kept natural. It features several regional parks, connected by trails and roads, that are part of the East Bay Regional Park District. These parks have been in place since the mid-1900s to protect the natural beauty of the Berkeley Hills.
Each regional park has plenty of breathtaking scenery to enjoy, but some of the best views can be seen from Tilden Regional Park. From Nimitz Way hiking trail, visitors can see the San Francisco Bay to the west, Mount Diablo to the east, and more. The park is also full of picnic tables and campsites so visitors can enjoy the park to its fullest.
Whether visiting the Pacific Coast, exploring Yellowstone, or enjoying little-known regional parks, California is one of the most stunning places in the United States.
