Since the first Christmas stamps were issued in November 1962, the Postal Service has spread holiday cheer through these special issues.
In 1994, four stamps, a 29¢ Christmas Stocking design, a 29¢ Santa self-adhesive, a 29¢ Cardinal in Snow self-adhesive for automatic teller machines, and a 29¢ Virgin and Child by Sirani, follow in this grand tradition. This pane features the Cardinal in Snow design.
All were first released on October 20, 1994, in Harmony, Minnesota.
