A common sight in rural areas and small towns during the 1890s, the oil wagon dispensed fuel (oil or kerosene) to individual homes for heating, cooking, and lighting lanterns. Drawn by a team of two or more horses, this vehicle was simply a large tank mounted on a wagon.
