These First Day Covers feature the seventh group of sixteen flag stamps. Honored are: New Zealand, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Maldives, Ethiopia, Jordan, and Zambia.
This unique series of stamps was launched in 1980 to honor Member States of the United Nations. The series has afforded the public an opportunity to enjoy the same colorful and varied designs seen on the flags flying outside United Nations Headquarters.
Fleetwood began producing covers in 1941. Mystic bought the company in 2007 and is proud to continue its tradition of excellence today. All Fleetwood First Day Covers issued after March 10, 1976, feature interesting information about the stamp subject on the back. These covers are cancelled with either a "killer bar" (a heavy black four-bar cancel) or a black and white pictorial, if offered.
