Why the stamp was issued:  According to the USPS, this stamp (along with the others in the Waterfalls set) were issued to celebrate “the variety and beauty of American waterfalls.”

About the stamp design:  This stamp pictures an existing photograph of Harrison Falls in Pennsylvania along with its name and the state it’s located in (text is below the image).

First Day City:  Issued in Yellowstone National Park, appropriate considering one of the stamps pictures a major waterfall in the park.

About the Waterfalls set:  The USPS issued the 2023 Waterfalls set to showcase a small handful of the 17,000 documented waterfalls in America.  Each one has something special about it that draws visitors from all walks of life to witness its natural beauty and power.  These stamps include small, lesser-known waterfalls like Sunbeam Falls in Washington State as well as huge, worldwide attractions like Niagara Falls in New York.

Here's a complete list of the waterfalls pictured in the set:

a)  Deer Creek Falls, Arizona
b)  Nevada Fall, California
c)  Harrison Falls, Pennsylvania
d)  Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River, Wyoming
e)  Waimoku Falls, Hawaii
f)  Stewart Falls, Utah
g)  Niagara Falls, New York
h)  Dark Hollow Falls, Virginia
i)  Grotto Falls, Tennessee
j)  Sunbeam Falls, Washington
k)  LaSalle Canyon Waterfall, Illinois
l)  Upper Falls, North Carolina

History the stamp represents:  Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania is well known for its many waterfalls.  In fact, the World Waterfall Database calls it “as close to a Waterfall Mecca as it gets within the United States.”  There are 24 named falls within the park as well as numerous smaller unnamed falls.  They are found in the Kitchen Creek drainage, mostly within the two main branches of the creek – Glen Leigh and Ganoga Glen.

Harrison Wright Falls is the first waterfall on Kitchen Creek after the two branches combine.  It was named after Harrison Wright, a lawyer and mineralogist.  He and Robert Bruce Ricketts (whom the state park was named after) were famous members of the Wyoming Historical and Geological Society.

Ricketts Glen State Park cites Harrison Wright Falls as being 27 feet tall, but a 2018 survey by the World Waterfall Database found them to be 32 feet in height.  Harrison Wright Falls is a curtain-type fall with a large plunge pool.  It flows year-round and is popular with amateur and professional photographers alike.

Harrison Wright Falls is located in close proximity to several other major falls in the state park.  Sheldon Reynold Falls is approximately 100 yards downstream while Wyandot and Erie Falls are a quarter mile upstream.  All this makes Ricketts Glen a great day trip for the whole family.
