The 2017 Priority Mail stamp was issued in honor of Lili'uokalani Gardens' 100th anniversary. The park was dedicated in 1917 and named after Queen Lili'uokalani, who donated the land for the gardens. Thanks to Queen Lili'uokalani's generous contribution of 30 acres, the park became the largest Edo-style garden outside of Japan. Like many past Priority Mail stamps, the Lili'uokalani Gardens issue features original art by Dan Cosgrove.
St. Louis, Missouri, is home to the famous monument pictured on the 2017 Gateway Arch Express mail stamp. The massive structure was designed in 1947 by architect Eero Saarinen to honor "the gateway to the West [and] national expansion..." Construction began in 1959 and the Gateway Arch officially opened to the public on June 10, 1967. This stamp marks the monument's 50th anniversary.
