2006 Benjamin Franklin, Scientist,Silver Dollar First Day Cover

Two limited-edition collectibles in one!  First Day Coin Cover commemorates the 300th anniversary of Benjamin Franklin's birth.  Cover features the 2006 "Statesman" and "Scientist" stamps honoring Franklin's contributions, cancelled by the official First Day of Issue postmark.  90% silver proof $1 coin pictures Franklin's famous experiment with a kite and lightning on the obverse.  The reverse reproduces Franklin's 1754  "Join, Or Die" political cartoon, which was influential in uniting the colonies.  Minted by the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, the proof coin measures 1 1/2 inch and contains .77 ounce of silver.  Includes Certificate of Authenticity.
