The American flag, a symbol of our country's triumph over oppression and our dream of freedom, was honored on this set of four 2008 U.S. postage stamps. The set, titled "American Flag 24/7," shows the American flag at four different times of day - sunrise, noon, sunset, and night.

This design was produced by three different printers. The stamps are microprinted with “USPS” in the following places:

4236 – flag at dusk – On the second red stripe, next to the blue field.

4237 – flag at night – On the red stripe in the lower left corner.

4238 – flag at dawn – On the vertical fold, just below the blue field.

4239 – flag at night – on the top red stripe next to the blue field.
