Each of the stamps in this horizontal pair pays the rate to send a Priority Mail package. The left stamp, based on a computer-generated NASA image, shows a hologram of a space shuttle docking with the International Space Station. Astronauts working outside the space station are featured on the stamp at the right. That stamp image was developed from an artist's conception. The selvage photograph is of astronauts David Leestma and Kathryn Sullivan working in space shuttle Challenger's open cargo bay in October of 1984.
World Stamp Expo 2000
Held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, the show ran from July 7 to 16, 2000. A total of 26 postal administrations and 107 vendors participated in the show, which planners said promised “to be one of the most extensive and exciting events of the new millennium.”
