Platform shoes and flared jeans were the fashion of the early 1970s. Dresses of all lengths from mini skirts to maxi dresses were popular. As the decade ended, disco took over the fashion world, as well as the music world. Three-piece suits in every color of the rainbow had wide collars and high waistbands. Women wore wrap skirts and zippered jumpsuits. T-shirts with iron-on decals were popular with children. Long hair was fashionable for young men and women.
