The ring-necked pheasant is featured on three 20¢ self-adhesive stamps. Originally found in Central Asia, the Romans brought these birds to Europe about 2,000 years ago. They are now common in North America as well. The ring-necked pheasant is featured in two 1998 self-adhesive formats, convertible booklet and coil, and in a 1999 self-adhesive booklet version. The 1999 ten-stamp pane features a stamp at the top and bottom facing toward the bottom of the pane. All other stamps are positioned normally, with the pheasant facing left.
