This image is from “Young Boy With A Top,” by French master Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin. The stamp is part of the “Famous Works of Art” series, issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union. The eight stamps feature the theme of writing and reading letters. The design of each stamp was taken from paintings done by international artists.
